1. Word-Meaning:
Hive= store honey or pollen.
Glade= clearing; open space.
Veils= covering or cause to be covered.
Cricket= a small insect (Gryllidae).
Glimmer= shine faintly.
Purple glow= deep and shine.
Linnet= a kind of bird, a small brown and grey bird with a short beak.
Lapping= move with or make a whistling or hissing sound.
Shore= a region marking a boundary.
Grey= brown
Core= internal part.
Clay= soil; covered with unclean things.
Wattles= twisted sticks for making fences, walls.

3. Where does the poet W.B. Yeats want to go?
Ans:- The poet W.B. Yeats wants to go to Innisfree. Innisfree is a place where nature is beautiful, alive and full of life.

(iii) He hears the song of the cricket and peace come dropping. He sees the light glimmer of the midnight, bright noon with the purple rays of the sun. He also sees the evenings full of linnet's wings. The calm and quiet atmosphere of Innisfree soothes the poet's mind.
(iv) In his heart's core he hears the sound of the lake water lapping the shore of the island.

Ans:- The poet wants to build a cabin in Innisfree. He will make his cabin with clay and surround it with a fence.

6. Why does the poet want to go to Innisfree?
Ans:- Innisfree is a place full of beauty and peace. But it is not only a place but also a state of mind. Actually the poet misses the place of his boyhood days. So, he has a deep desire to go to that place and longs to live there.

Ans:- (i) bee-loud glade - It gives the picture of the honey comb and the honey bees humming all around the place.
(ii) evening full of linnet's wings - It gives the picture of thousands of linnet's flying all around the place and creating a pleasant sound by their wings.
(iii) lake water lapping with low sounds - It gives the picture of the lake water striking the shore and making a very pleasant sound. The natural beauty of the place adds pleasure to the scene.

Ans:- The poet shall go to Innisfree. He will build a small cabin there. It will be made of clay and will be surrounded by a fence. He shall have nine rows of beans and a hive for the honey bee. He will live there alone.

Ans:- The poet shall listen to the cricket's song in the morning. The midnight shall have the light of the glow.worms. The noon shall look beautiful in its purple glow and the linnets shall fly all around during the evening.
